If I were in camping lonely in Africa, I'd like to have a guide with me who explains me all the important things to know. For instance, he should show me how to be aware of wild animals in particular. As I don't know Africa's countryside at all, he should be able to conduct me easily if I didn't know the way anymore. Especially in the nights I'd be glad to have a personal companion if there were some strange animals just infront of my tent.

If I were you, I'd try to find someone who could come with me, but If I went there alone, I'd bring a guidebook and some weapons.
